We’re excited to announce that Canix now supports Plant Additive tracking in required Metrc states!

Why This Matters

In certain states, including Ohio, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Missouri, cultivators are required to track all ingredients—such as fertilizers and pesticides—applied to their plants. These rules ensure compliance with state regulations, maintain transparency, and support product safety for consumers.

How Additive Tracking Works in Metrc

Within Metrc, additives may be applied either:

  • To entire locations, or
  • To specific plants.

When logging additives, cultivators must specify:

  • The ingredients within a fertilizer or pesticide, and
  • The supplier of those ingredients.

This added level of detail ensures state-level compliance and helps operators maintain complete, auditable records.

Canix Support

With Canix’s new functionality, cultivators in Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois can now seamlessly log and manage plant additives directly within their workflows. This means:

  • Easier compliance with state tracking rules.
  • Streamlined record-keeping for fertilizers, pesticides, and other additives.
  • Improved accuracy in Metrc reporting.

Operators can simply designate whether a Plant Additive should be submitted to Metrc. From that point forward, all deductions of that Product will be logged to Metrc automatically.
