2025: A Year of Ecosystem Expansion, Smarter Commerce & Operational Scale

2025 was a landmark year for Canix—one defined by scaled commerce capabilities, deeper compliance automation, expanded workflows, and refined admin controls.

Over the course of the year, we released over 200 feature updates, including Canix Shop and Payment Processing.

Here’s how 2025 shaped up—and how your product team delivered tooling that matters.

🛍️ Commerce Takes Center Stage: Marketplace & Payments

Two big launches this year moved Canix beyond inventory and compliance into commerce and payments.

Canix Marketplace — A Live Inventory Ordering Experience

The initial release of Canix Marketplace went live in June 2025, giving operators a built-in digital storefront for wholesale ordering directly inside Canix. Key capabilities in this launch include:

  • Real-time availability and COA integration
  • Buyers and sales reps can filter by item type, brand, strain, and subtype for faster discovery.
  • Sales placed through the Shop create Sales Orders in Canix with status tracking.
  • Create and manage Products from the Admin panel that group multiple inventory SKUs for cleaner browsing.

Throughout the year, the Shop experience expanded with enhancements like smarter filters and search, mobile support, featured product listings, PDF menu export, dual units of measure ordering, and shop-specific availability & URL controls—all making browsing and ordering more intuitive.

📦 Inventory & Sales Enhancements That Scale Your Business

2025 also delivered inventory and sales-centric improvements that help operations run smoothly at scale:

  • Support for Intra-Facility NCI Lot Splitting—allowing non-cannabis inventory to move within facilities without external transfers.
  • Bulk Invoice Configuration & Generation—teams can now configure and generate invoices at scale directly from Sales Orders.
  • More Flexible BOM Outputs - users are now able to associate BOM outputs by Item, Item Sub-Type, or Item Type, providing the flexibility to adapt at run time without constantly maintaining your BOMs.
  • Maximum Outstanding Balance Enforcement to guard credit exposure and enforce consistent credit policies across internal orders.
  • COAs Sync from Metrc directly for compliant and verified lab results.

These changes increase data accuracy, operational speed, and financial control for multi-license and multi-facility operators.

🔧 Admin Controls & Workflow Optimization

Empowering admin teams with tools to enforce consistency and reduce friction was another 2025 theme:

  • Custom Item Templates went GA, letting admins define required fields for item creation/editing to strengthen data quality.
  • Bulk Data Uploader Support for Products & Metrc-Only Item Fields, allowing large catalog edits without triggering compliance syncs.

These enhancements help teams standardize data, reduce errors, and scale operations confidently.

⚡ Performance & Usability

Across the platform, various improvements delivered better performance and user experience:

  • 10 minute syncs for Plant Batches, Plants, and Harvests. Now every object in Canix syncs every 10 minutes, dramatically reducing the amount of times that you need to hit “Metrc Refresh.”
  • Performance Boosts for Plant Additives Workflows, now supporting up to 30,000 plants at once.
  • Smarter Package Tag Allocation including more intuitive auto-allocation across splits and combines.
  • Continuous refinements to sales visibility, UI workflows, and inventory insights made daily operations smoother.

🚀 Looking Ahead to 2026

2025 was a year of transformation: expanding Canix from ERP and compliance tooling into a commerce and discovery platform, while continuing to refine core workflows for inventory, manufacturing, and reporting.

From the debut of Canix Marketplace to deeper compliance automation and scalable inventory controls, these releases position operators to run smarter, sell more, and connect more directly with their customers and partners.

Thank you to all our customers for your feedback and partnership this past year—we’re excited to build even more together in 2026!
